So the brake system works

  • When you press a brake pedal the pusher connected with a pedal presses two pistons located one after another into the main brake cylinder (in an impellent compartment).
  • Pistons supersede the brake liquid concluded there. Pressure formed thus in brake system through pipelines and hoses is transferred to cylinders of brakes.
  • In them pistons press brake Pads to brake disks.
  • Pressure of a liquid is transferred by two systems of pipelines independent from each other (brake contours), and for one forward wheel and an opposite back wheel (the two-planimetric brake system divided on a diagonal).
  • If one brake contour, that, despite it fails, two wheels are still braked.
  • The manual brake operates on back wheels by means of тросовых draughts and a mechanical way presses overlays to brake disks.
  • All models Audi A4 from the beginning of release of a series have serial system of antiblocking of wheels. In more details about ABS it is told in the following chapter.

 Council: If one brake contour you should press on a pedal of a brake much more strongly (a free wheeling of a pedal of a brake also fails becomes longer) to achieve brake effect. The braking way too is extended.
