Measurement of a thickness of overlays of forward disk brakes
Large brake overlays of forward disk brakes often maintain run more than 50 000 km. The control of a thickness of overlays is of great importance for safety, – about brakes easily "forget", in view of such high ходимость overlays, – as in Audi A4 is not present more to an alarm bulb of deterioration of brake overlays as it was in the previous models:

1 – an overlay material;

- The minimum thickness of an overlay makes 7 mm, including bearing plate. The bearing plate – a metal detail on which the overlay is pasted, – has a thickness about 5 mm, thus a material of a direct overlay should have the minimum thickness of 2 mm.
- At the fluent control with the removed cap of a wheel will light a lamp in an aperture of a rim and estimate a thickness of an overlay.
- More exact control at the removed wheel.
- Put a ruler to an overlay and measure, do not forget about a brake overlay on an inside!
