Starter dismantle

In figures "1", 2 and 4 bolts which should be unscrewed at dismantle of a starter (3) (the four-cylinder engine) are shown. |

- Disconnect on the accumulator a weight wire, short circuit differently is possible.
- Dismantle the bottom facing of the engine (the head of the Detail of a body).
- Raise the right forward part of the car and fix.
- The four-cylinder engine: disconnect all wires on the electromagnetic switch.
- There where is, dismantle an arm on a starter ahead in the direction of travel.
- Unscrew fixing bolts and nuts on a fixing flange of a starter (in the direction of travel behind).
- Take out a starter.
- The six-cylinder engine: dismantle a ventilating hose of the generator.
- Unscrew an arm маслопровода (an automatic transmission) on картере and the transmission case.
- Dismantle wires on the electromagnetic switch of a starter.
- Uncover.
- Dismantle wire D + on the generator.
- Hang out wires to a starter and the generator from arms on a body, unscrew arms.
- Unscrew fixing bolts and nuts on a fixing flange of a starter (in the direction of travel behind).
- Take out a starter from a transmission bell, having overturned it from top to bottom.
- Now wring out a starter upwards and extend it aside over a transmission.
- In this work it is a question of millimetres.

Replacement of graphite brushes
If the starter strikes, that, probably, graphite brushes are erased only. These graphite brushes are on sale only in gathering with a fixing plate. As after opening of the case of a starter hermetic sealing it is necessary to get hermetic D3 in a warehouse of spare parts should be broken. At the four-cylinder engine the powerful soldering iron and solder also are necessary.

- Dismantle a starter.
- Unscrew two screws with шлицевыми heads on a small cover of the bearing on a starter underside, uncover.
- Remove a safety washer and an adjusting washer from the end of a shaft located under it.
- Unscrew both screws with шлицевыми heads (or nuts with распорными fingers) on a back cover of the case and uncover.
- Measure length of graphite brushes – the minimum length of 8 mm.
- For replacement of graphite brushes unscrew a fixing plate from its knot of connection on the electromagnetic switch.
- Again mount a starter, thus condense with hermetic a case cover, fixing screws and a bearing cover.

- Dismantle a starter.
- Unscrew a starter wire.
- Unscrew three screws with шлицевыми heads on a fixing flange of the electromagnetic switch.
- Pull the electromagnetic switch a little back and take out an eye from the starting lever of a starter.
