High voltage knot

The high voltage wire, antinoise socket concern knot of a high voltage of system of ignition along with the coil and the ignition distributor and, of course, spark plugs.

High voltage wire

Usually thick wires of a high voltage from the ignition coil to spark plugs (or to the distributor) do not deliver problems.

They should be strongly inserted the antinoise sockets (against a radio noise) into nests of a cover of the distributor of ignition or ignition coils. Them штекерные sockets should not be oxidised, and they should have a reliable contact to sockets of candles.

If the high voltage wire became firm and fragile you should put a new wire. They are on sale for all engines in gathering with corresponding sockets.

In Audi it is impossible to use any sockets of candles. Sockets should have the internal resistance corresponding to system of ignition.

Councils: "not Tight" sites on a high voltage wire are easy for finding out, if at the working engine to look in an impellent compartment at night. Then the spark jumping on a wire is well visible. On the contrary, do not cause fear the weak light flashes "running" along a wire.

If in the engine constantly or times (at crude weather) all cylinders, the reason sometimes in defective sockets of candles work not. There through изоляционный a material there are spark breakdowns between a metal cover and a high voltage electrode. More often on a candle socket it is not visible, it punches or not. For check replace a candle socket with another. The time help in a way: remove the metal screen of a socket.

Sequence of ignition

For the balanced work of the engine the toplivno-air mix ignites in cylinders not successively 1-2-3-4 (-5-6), and alternately. According to this sequence of ignition of 1,6 l are inserted into a cover of the distributor of the engine of an ignition wire. If the distributor finger at the removed cover of the distributor and a dustproof cover specifies on risk on the brink of the case the ignition moment is necessary on 1st cylinder (the very first in the direction of travel).

In our engines the following sequence of ignition is established:

  • The four-cylinder engine: 1-3-4-2. The distributor finger in the engine of 1,6 l rotates to the right (clockwise). In the engine of 1,8 l of 92 kw the coil of ignition of 3rd cylinder submits power supplies on a high voltage wire also to 2 cylinder. The coil of ignition of 4th cylinder on a high voltage wire submits power supplies also on 1st cylinder. In the engine of 1,8 l and capacity of 110 kw are not present danger of mess because of separate coils of ignition.
  • The six-cylinder engine: 1-4-3-6-2-5. The distributor of ignition is not present – the arrangement of connecting knots of wires of a high voltage on a package of coils of ignition corresponds to an arrangement of cylinders. An example: the high-voltage wire in connection knot behind on the right approaches to the cylinder behind on the right.
