Check of fires of stoplights

The constant control

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fires of stoplights in Audi A4 receive power supplies directly from accumulator plus (through a safety lock and the switch of fires of stoplights). It means that they should burn also by pressing a pedal of a brake without ignition inclusion.
  2. The wall behind the car on the right and at the left should be shined with red light if you press a brake pedal.
  3. Or at movement in a column check up in a mirror of the back review, whether both are reflected in reflectors of headlights or in varnishing going behind the car of fire of a stoplight of your car.

The switch of fires of a stoplight

The switch of fires of a stoplight (3) settles down in an arm over a brake pedal. It should not be confused to ventilating valves (1 and 2) systems of adjustment of speed. 4 – the block of management of blocking of departure of the car.

The switch of fires of a stoplight is in Audi over a pedal of a brake and is accessible only after dismantle of a reception pocket at the left (the head Salon).

If the brake pedal the switch pin is put forward is pressed and closes contact to stoplight lanterns.

Adjustment of the switch of fires of a stoplight

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle a reception pocket at the left under a control panel (the head Salon).
  2. Press a pedal of a brake a hand.
  3. With force wring out upwards the switch of fires of a stoplight in its directing.
  4. Now release a pedal of a brake and pull back against the stop.
  5. At the expense of it the switch of fires of a stoplight will be straightened.
  6. Such adjustment is spent only once at switch installation since after repeated adjustment the switch will not be clamped in directing reliably enough.

Check of the switch of fires of a stoplight

If both lanterns of fires of a stoplight have failed, check up, whether is a source of malfunction the switch:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a wire socket on the switch of fires of a stoplight.
  2. Close a writing paper clip or a piece of a wire contacts in a socket.
  3. If now stoplight fires burn (though till now it was not) the switch is faulty.

 Council: do not confuse the switch of fires of a stoplight with the switch on a brake pedal from system of adjustment of speed. The last has an additional connection to a vacuum hose.
