Switched inlet collector

The six-cylinder engine with working volume 2,6 l has no switched inlet collector. Its inlet collector consists of the knots shown here. Here the special attention is given small weight of a design.


Заслонки a switched inlet collector at the six-cylinder engine with working volume 2,8 l are put in action by means of a vacuum box (2) by means of a vacuum hose (1). This box should not be confused to a vacuum box (3) systems of adjustment of speed (an additional complete set).


The valve (1) switchings of a register inlet collector defines, whether there should be in a vacuum box a vacuum. It receives a signal about switching on a wire (2) from the block of management of injection. Then the vacuum from a tube (3) inlet collectors can move to a tube (4) vacuum boxes. The valve is established behind an inlet collector on so-called шумопоглотителе soaked up air.

Here the sequence in which fixing bolts of an inlet collector of the six-cylinder engine with working volume 2,6 and 2,8 l are tightened is shown. Only so it is possible to avoid at installation of deformation of an inlet collector.

The six-cylinder engine with working volume 2,8 l

The high twisting moment even at low frequency of rotation is provided with a long soaking up tube with small diameter. On the contrary, for maintenance of the big capacity of the engine at high frequency of rotation the short soaking up tube with the big cross-section section is required. To combine that and another, firm Audi has developed a switched inlet collector. In it depending on a situation are closed and six open заслонок. Thanks to it at the disposal of each cylinder there is one of soaking up tubes of different length and with different diameter: or an inlet collector for twisting moment maintenance (a long tube with small diameter) or an inlet collector for capacity support (a short tube with the big diameter).

All six заслонок are put in action by the lowered pressure and cope depending on engine turns: to 4000 rpm they are closed for maintenance of a high twisting moment. Over 4000 rpm they are completely open for capacity support. Below 4000 rpm by means of an inlet collector of a twisting moment about 30 Nanometers in comparison with мощностным an inlet collector are won.

The engine with working volume reaches 2,8 l of the maximum twisting moment in 245 Nanometers at 3000 rpm at use of gasoline of mark euro-super (euro-Super); with gasoline super plus (98 ROZ) the twisting moment raises to 250 Nanometers. In a wide range from 2000 to from above 5500 rpm on hand there are a minimum of 220 Nanometers.

Check of functioning of a switched inlet collector

Switching of an inlet collector needs to be checked only in the event that the capacity lack is observed. In the beginning check up a hand ease of a course of the lever mechanism. After that check of functional ability follows: it becomes at the heated-up engine:

  1. Start the engine, lift turns considerably above 4000 rpm.
  2. Observe a vacuum box: draught of management should be delayed back.
  3. If it not so, check up vacuum hoses on tightness. If they are perfectly in order:
  4. Check up a vacuum box: put on a spare hose connecting knot of a box, intensively пососите a mouth.
  5. If draught of management does not move and-or a lot of air can be soaked up, the box is faulty. Replace it. But if a box in working order:
  6. Check up the valve of switching of the register of an inlet collector: remove both vacuum hoses from the valve. Put on a spare hose connecting knot of an inlet collector of the valve.
  7. Vigorously пососите a mouth a spare vacuum hose. Air should not подсасываться (there is no passableness).
  8. Start the engine, lift turns considerably above 4000 rpm.
  9. Again vigorously пососите a hose. Now air should подсасываться (passableness is).
  10. If till now the malfunction source has not been found (that improbably enough) in a workshop it is necessary to check up adjustment.

Dismantle of a switched inlet collector

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle an engine cover.
  2. Disconnect sockets of candles, take out from arms of a wire of a high voltage.
  3. Dismantle a distributive tube of fuel together with all valves of injection (section System of injection MPI/MPFI).
  4. Dismantle an inlet hose.
  5. Dismantle the valve of stabilisation of idling or disconnect a socket.
  6. Dismantle all vacuum hoses / ventilating hoses картера on an inlet collector and a branch pipe throttle заслонки.
  7. Dismantle a cable throttle заслонки and a socket of its potentiometer.
  8. Unscrew bolts in an order, the return to an inhaling in a photo above.
  9. Remove an inlet collector with a branch pipe throttle заслонки.
  10. Installation: replace linings.
  11. Tighten fixing bolts of an inlet collector according to sequence in drawing above in four stages. 1st stage: 5 Nanometers, 2nd stage: 10 Nanometers, 3rd stage: 20 Nanometers, 4th stage: once again 20 Nanometers.

Dismantle of inlet collector V6 with working volume 2,6 l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle is carried out the same as at the engine with working volume 2,8 l.
  2. Concerning sequence of an inhaling of fixing bolts the same rules, as for the engine with working volume 2,8 l operate.
