Adjustment by means of a ljambda-probe

The catalyst can work effectively only in that case when the relative quantity of air l (лямбда) as much as possible comes nearer to 1. That it to receive, the system of ignition/injection MPI/MPFI is supplied by so-called ljambda-adjustment. Thus the ljambda-probe measures in the fulfilled gas quantity of oxygen – comparative size for definition of structure of a toplivno-air mix. If the measured size deviates from ideal the management block spends additional adjustment. Adjustment functions in a range from l=0,8 to l=1,2.

The ljambda-probe gives a suitable signal for use only at temperatures from above 350 С. Quickly to reach this temperature, the probe is warmed up by an electric way. Before the necessary temperature is reached, the system is not regulated and guided on the set average size l.

Six-cylinder model Audi with a drive on all wheels has two catalyticи converters and two ljambda-probes.
