The help at malfunctions

Коленвал the six-cylinder engine it is turned for the central bolt of a belt pulley коленвала. As the tool it is necessary to use unprofitable a key with internal двенадцатигранником SW 24 with a rattle or the lever.


The top dead point (ВМТ) is found, if the mark "About" on a flywheel appears under a base edge on the case of a transmission (arrow).


Other marks ВМТ are in the six-cylinder engine on a belt pulley or on the bottom cover of a gear belt (arrow).


At cylinder position № 1 in ВМТ the big apertures of fixing plates on both flywheels of cam-shafts are turned to the centre of the engine (marksman).

Facing поликлинового a belt of the six-cylinder engine is put on below two fingers (1 and 2), above it in two places (3 and 4) is screwed.

On the right: in the six-cylinder engine the cover of a gear belt fastens two clips (arrow). To dismantle the right cover of a gear belt, it is necessary to remove in addition a tension roller поликлинового a belt (the big bolt with internal шестигранником).


By arrows fixing bolts on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders of the engine with working volume 1,6 l are shown. Bolts become accessible only after dismantle of facing of the engine.

Too low indicators of pressure

Indicators of equally low pressure of compression yet an occasion to anxiety; the admissions of measurements different for different devices can be the reason of low indicators. But if at gaugings on different cylinders the difference makes more than 3 bar, it is necessary to reflect. It can mean the following:

  • Deterioration of pistons and piston rings;
  • Piston rings densely sitting in flutes as consequence of pollution;
  • Cylinders of not round form as consequence of jamming of pistons;
  • Adjournment on cores of valves or saddles of valves at the expense of burning and greasing products;
  • The burnt down valves. In most cases the reason of insufficient pressure of compression are not tight valves and, hence, the lowered capacity of the engine. Repair of a head of the block of cylinders can help only.

Search of malfunctions

For defect localisation at too low pressure of compression use reception: a manual butterdish drip a few engine oil in a nest of a spark plug and once again measure pressure of compression.

  • If indicators and now below norm, valves are not perfectly in order.
  • If indicators became above, business in piston rings and, maybe, in cylinders. The filled in oil for a short while has worked as a lining between the piston and cylinder walls so the compressed gas almost did not find an exit.

The test for pressure loss (on tightness)

More exact results are given by the test for tightness which some workshops can spend. If the checked chamber of combustion loses pressure it is shown on a tester scale.

Larger place of leak can be defined listening:

  • Шипенье in an exhaust pipe testifies to leaky closed final valve.
  • Вытекание air from the case of the air filter testifies to defect of the inlet valve.
  • At a defective lining of a head of the block of cylinders or a crack in a head of the block of cylinders the compressed air arrives through the next nest of a spark plug or from an open broad tank with a cooling liquid outside.
  • The worn out walls of the cylinders, directing pistons or piston rings pass pressure in картер, and it leaves from opened маслозаливного a branch pipe or a tube for probeа measurements of level of oil.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For this purpose put the car with a mechanical transmission on the fourth transfer on an equal surface.
  2. In the four-cylinder engine establish bent superimposed key SW-24 on the central nut of a belt pulley of the generator and now turn the engine by means of a klinovo-ridge belt.
  3. In the six-cylinder engine dismantle the bottom facing of an impellent compartment (the head of the Detail of a body), establish on the central bolt of a belt pulley коленвала unprofitable key SW 24 and turn it by means of a rattle or the lever.
  4. Never rotate the engine for a fixing bolt of a pulley of a gear belt of a cam-shaft at the removed cover of a gear belt! The gear belt can jump thus – danger of damage of the engine.

Cylinder installation № 1 in the top dead point of the moment of ignition

In the four-cycle engine the piston during four working steps two times reaches the top dead point (ВМТ): once at ignition of the let in mix, in the second time – after emission of the fulfilled gases, with an admission of a toplivno-air mix beginning right after it. Usually at various adjusting works position ВМТ of the cylinder № 1 is required.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The four-cylinder engine: dismantle a cover of a gear belt (it is described in this chapter above). Turn коленвал so that marks on a pulley of a gear belt of a cam-shaft have risen opposite to a corresponding mark in a cover of a head of the block of cylinders or in a back cover of a gear belt.
  2. For best accuracy move коленвал a little backwards-forward so that in a viewing aperture at the left in a transmission bell it (is remote) marks "About" on a flywheel has risen opposite to edge of a viewing aperture.
  3. The six-cylinder engine: dismantle on the right and at the left a cover of a gear belt (it is described in the head further).
  4. Rotate коленвал until the big apertures on fixing plates of both pulleys of cam-shafts will not rise on an inside against each other.
  5. If it is necessary, whether move a little коленвал there-here or turn it to itself so that in a viewing aperture of a bell of a transmission marks "About" on a flywheel have risen opposite to edge of a viewing aperture.

Dismantle of facing of the engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The four-cylinder engine with working volume 1,6 l: the big screw-driver turn to the left on 90 two high-speed shutters. Take out from hooks and remove facing.
  2. The four-cylinder engine with working volume 1,8 l: ослабьте two fixing clips on the right on facing. Take out facing from the left hook and remove.
  3. Lift upwards facing for back edge over valves of injection and extend ahead from штекерного connections.
  4. The six-cylinder engine: the big screw-driver turn to the left on 90 four high-speed shutters.
  5. Remove facing.

The 6-cylinder engine

The poliklinovoj belt in the six-cylinder engine works under facing on the face-to-face party of the engine.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle engine facing.
  2. Loosen the fastening of two bolts with internal шестигранниками near to a package of coils of ignition.
  3. Remove facing upwards from both fixing bolts.
  4. At installation facing in the beginning put on fixing fingers.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. The engine with working volume 1,6 l: remove a lock collar, remove a ventilating hose картера.
  2. Dismantle engine facing how it is described above.
  3. If it is necessary, take out from clips a cable plait.
  4. Loosen the fixing nuts.
  5. Remove strengthening laths (together with arms of a wire of a high voltage).
  6. Remove a back cover of a gear belt.
  7. Lift a cover.
  8. If it is necessary, remove маслоотражатель.
  9. The four-cylinder engine with working volume 1,8 l: dismantle engine facing how it is described.
  10. Dismantle ignition coils (the head ignition System).
  11. Loosen the nine fixing bolts of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
  12. Lift a cover.
  13. If it is necessary, remove маслоотражатель.
  14. The six-cylinder engine: dismantle engine facing.
  15. Loosen the fixing bolts.
  16. Lift a cover.
  17. If it is necessary, remove маслоотражатель.
  18. At installation, whenever possible, use a new lining.
  19. The four-cylinder engine with working volume 1,6 l: do not forget strengthening lath of a guard under fixing nuts.
  20. The four-cylinder engine with working volume 1,8 l: check up accuracy of landing of a lining, two-piece.
  21. The six-cylinder engine: slightly grease the internal and external parties of a lining of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders with silicone greasing D 007 000 04 (from spare parts).
  22. Put on all four edges between a sealing surface of a head of the block of cylinders and a cover of the bearing of a cam-shaft a little Silimate AMV 174 004 01 from a warehouse of spare parts Audi. Track that the aperture for greasing under a cover of the bearing of a cam-shaft thus has not got littered.
  23. For all models: since the cover middle, tighten cross-wise nuts and bolts with the moment of an inhaling of 10 Nanometers.
