The visual control of the engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Examine the engine from top to bottom.
  2. Slightly greasy places not an occasion to anxiety – all engines slightly "sweat" from time to time greasing.
  3. And here the reason of occurrence of oil stains under the parked car and obvious замасливания should be studied.
  4. Wash out the engine by means of a special washing-up liquid and the steam-ejecting unit.
  5. After a trial trip on distance in some kilometres check up, whether oil acts.

Possible places of leak

Here we have listed places where oil in engine Audi can act:

  • Linings коленвала, distributive (ых) a shaft (ов) and an intermediate shaft in the four-cylinder engine. These places are closed by a cover of a gear belt.
  • Linings of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.
  • Lining of a head of the block of cylinders.
  • The switch of pressure of oil.
  • Lining of the oil filter.
  • Lining on an oil radiator (behind the filter).
  • Lining картера.
  • Lining for коленвалом (oil acts in a socket of the engine and the transmission case).

 Council: On so-called sinks with steam-ejecting units for self-service it is possible to wash the engine cheaply. At strong pollution it is recommended to sprinkle preliminary the engine a special washing-up liquid and to wait it is a little, that it has worked. Necessarily take with itself working clothes!

Обкатка the new engine

For the first 1000 km sliding details of the engine (pistons and cylinders, bearings of sliding and shaft) should "get used" to each other. It should occur at low loadings, i.e. At low frequency of turns. Capacity of the engine depends on it in the future and term of its service. Therefore:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Do not give full gas; at an automatic transmission avoid position of full gas and pressing against the stop an accelerator pedal. The maximum number of turns: 4200 in mines!
  2. Lift turns only at the heated-up engine and to the specified 4200 rpm; at cold weather be switched earlier.
  3. At run from 1000 to 1500 km gradually disperse the engine till the maximum speed or to as much as possible admissible turns.

 Council: that here has been told concerning the new engine, also concerns the repaired power-plant which – by experience – sensitively reacts to wrong style of driving.
