Dismantling of a suspension bracket of forward wheels

Details of a forward amortisation rack and sequence of their assemblage

1 – a nut with a flange;
2 – the bearing of an amortisation rack;

The forward dismantled amortisation rack

In knots of a suspension bracket of forward wheels much can be disassembled and collected independently though for carrying out of certain works tools from a workshop are necessary. The damaged details of a suspension bracket of wheels cannot be corrected or even to weld, it is necessary to replace them only.

Dismantle of a forward amortisation rack

Dismantle of an amortisation rack in Audi A4 is not especially labour-consuming. Pleasantly also that it is not necessary to measure adjustment of wheels anew.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Get new самоконтрящиеся nuts for fastening of an amortisation rack below and above, and also for the top screw connection of the bearing hinge.
  2. Lift both rubber tips in the humidifying tank (they close the top screw connections of amortisation racks).
  3. Unscrew under them both nuts of an amortisation rack.
  4. Lift and fix a forward part of the car.
  5. Remove a wheel.
  6. Disconnect on an amortisation rack a wire to the gauge of number of turns ABS.
  7. Unscrew a nut of a tightening bolt of the top hinge of an axis. Take out tightening a bolt.
  8. Take out axis hinges upwards from the case of the wheel bearing (rotary fists). Thus at all do not expand, for example, with a screw-driver шлиц in the case of the wheel bearing.
  9. Do not wring out the hinge of cross-section steering draught.
  10. Cast away outside the case of the wheel bearing.
  11. Unscrew the bottom screw connection of an amortisation rack.
  12. Cautiously take out an amortisation rack from a wheel niche.
  13. Installation: establish an amortisation rack so that the aperture in the bottom plate of a spring has been turned to the car centre.
  14. Tighten the bottom fastening of an amortisation rack on 90 Nanometers.
  15. Insert bearing hinges into the case of the wheel bearing against the stop.
  16. Insert tightening a bolt of the top hinges of an axis, tighten a nut on 40 Nanometers.
  17. Again fix wire ABS.
  18. Tighten the top nuts of an amortisation rack on 20 Nanometers.

Replacement of the forward shock-absorber

For this work which is spent on the dismantled amortisation rack, the spring tension device necessarily is required. Two tension devices are used, at least; better three. Without use of the tension device it is impossible to weaken a nut with a flange above on the piston of a rod of the piston of the shock-absorber as the spring is under a high preliminary tension. Details of an amortisation rack can scatter every which way, as at explosion, – extreme danger of reception of traumas! Besides, the weakened spring cannot be established.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dismantle an amortisation rack.
  2. Clamp an amortisation rack for вильчатую a head in a vice. Never tighten in the field of a cylindrical detail, differently the amortisation rack will be squeezed.
  3. Establish the tension device on coils of a spring and slightly compress a spring.
  4. That tension devices have not slid off, paste over corresponding coils of a spring with a sticky tape.
  5. Loosen the a nut with a flange above an amortisation rack. By means of a key with internal шестигранником wring out in an opposite side a rod of the piston of the shock-absorber.
  6. Remove a spring with auxiliary details.
  7. Remove a protective cap and a lining under a spring.
  8. Separate a spring plate a plastic hammer and remove it.
  9. Installation: put on a spring plate the new shock-absorber.
  10. Pay attention to assembly position: the aperture should be in a spring plate with displacement in 90 ° in relation to apertures in вильчатой to a head below on the shock-absorber (a maximum deviation only 2 °).
  11. Establish a lining under a spring, a protective cap and a cover, and also the persistent shock-absorber.
  12. Establish on a plate a spring which is still under a tension; track that the bottom end of coils of a spring adjoined to an emphasis of a plate of a spring.
  13. Put on the top plate of a spring with the bearing of an amortisation rack and a washer.
  14. Twirl a spring plate according to drawing on 11 ° to an axis of screwing up of the shock-absorber (below at вильчатой heads). On right and a left-hand side different directions.
  15. Work precisely: the admission is made only 2 °.
  16. Tighten a nut with a flange above on an amortisation rack on 60 Nanometers. By means of a key with internal шестигранником wring out in an opposite side a rod of the piston of the shock-absorber.
  17. Loosen the a spring tension, thus track that the spring end adjoined to an emphasis of a lining of a spring.

Dismantle of the forward wheel bearing

Here figures (1-3) designate fixing bolts of the top arm of the bearing of a forward axis.

The wheel bearing the external ring запрессован in the case, in an internal ring of the bearing запрессована a wheel nave.  PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Should be replaced all самоконтрящиеся nuts and bolts подшипниковой support of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/arm; get the new.
  2. In the beginning dismantle an arm above: the car needs to be lifted and fixed.
  3. Unscrew in an impellent compartment three fixing bolts of an arm.
  4. Dismantle a wheel.
  5. Disconnect a wire of the gauge of number of turns ABS on an amortisation rack.
  6. Unscrew a nut of a tightening bolt of the top hinges of an axis. Unscrew tightening a bolt.
  7. Take out axis hinges above from the case of the wheel bearing (rotary fists). Thus at all do not expand шлиц the case of the wheel bearing, for example, with a screw-driver.
  8. Do not wring out the hinge of cross-section steering draught.
  9. Cast away outside the case of the wheel bearing.
  10. Unscrew the bottom screw connection of an amortisation rack.
  11. Cautiously take out from a wheel niche an amortisation rack together with an arm.
  12. Loosen the screw connections of hinges of an axis.
  13. Installation: screw levers of a suspension bracket of an axis, slightly having inclined them downwards so that between external edge of an arm and levers of a suspension bracket of an axis there was a distance in 55 mm (the admission of 2 mm).
  14. The moment of an inhaling of levers of a suspension bracket of an axis above on an arm: 50 Nanometers. Then tighten on 1/4 turns.
  15. Again insert an amortisation rack with an arm.
  16. Tighten the bottom fastening of an amortisation rack on 90 Nanometers.
  17. Insert bearing hinges against the stop into the case of the wheel bearing.
  18. Insert tightening a bolt of the top hinges of an axis, tighten nuts on 40 Nanometers.
  19. Again fix wires ABS.

Dismantle (bearing) levers of an independent suspension bracket below

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Replace all самоконтрящиеся nuts, and also bolts подшипниковой support of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis; the same concerns to фланцевой to a nut on an outer side of the hinge of an axis and to ridge nuts of a connecting bar of the stabilizer.
  2. Lift the car and fix it.
  3. Dismantle a wheel.
  4. Unscrew from an outer side on the axis hinge фланцевую a nut, wring out a neck of the hinge from a conic nest on the case of the wheel bearing the corresponding demountable device (for example, the big stripper for cross-section steering draught).
  5. Unscrew the bottom screw connection of an amortisation rack.
  6. Unscrew a ridge nut of a connecting bar of the stabilizer, remove a connecting bar.
  7. Loosen the screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis.
  8. Take out bearing lever of a suspension bracket of an axis.
  9. Installation: clean a neck of the hinge of an axis. Tighten фланцевую a nut of the hinge of an axis on 100 Nanometers.
  10. Tighten the bottom fastening of an amortisation rack on 90 Nanometers.
  11. Again insert screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis. Use thus internal apertures on a body. At a tightening wring out inside the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis. Tighten a nut on 90 Nanometers. Then tighten it on 1/4 turns.
  12. Insert a connecting bar of the stabilizer (the arrow specifies a movement direction), tighten a ridge nut on 90 Nanometers.
  13. The nut and the big bolts of a support of the unit, and also фланцевая a nut on an outer side on the axis hinge should be replaced a bolt подшипниковой support of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis, it самоконтрящаяся.

Dismantle (directing) levers of an independent suspension bracket below

In drawing the distance "And" on which the top cross-section levers of an independent suspension bracket (or their line of a descent should be removed from the top arm) when screw connections (1) are tightened is shown.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lift the car and fix it.
  2. Dismantle a wheel.
  3. Unscrew from an outer side on the axis hinge фланцевую a nut, wring out a neck of the hinge from a conic nest on the case of the wheel bearing the corresponding demountable device (for example, the big stripper for cross-section steering draught).
  4. Loosen the screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis.
  5. To take out a universal bolt (it cannot be used repeatedly), it is necessary to lower an axis body.
  6. Therefore unscrew on basic guards both bolts of the smaller size with шестигранными heads, and also larger bolt (a bolt of a support of the unit).
  7. Take out the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis.
  8. Installation: clean a neck of the hinge of an axis. Tighten фланцевую a nut of the hinge of an axis on 100 Nanometers.
  9. Again insert screw connection of the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis/body of an axis. Use thus internal apertures on a body. At a tightening wring out inside the lever of a suspension bracket of an axis. Tighten a nut on 90 Nanometers. Then tighten it on 1/4 turns.
  10. Tighten both smaller bolts with шестигранными heads on basic guards on 25 Nanometers, larger bolt (a bolt of a support of the unit) tighten on 110 Nanometers. Then tighten it on 1/4 turns.
